About Kathleen
My career in the healing arts began when I entered the International School of Shiatsu in Pennsylvania in 1985. There I learned and fell in love with the possibilities of healing by balancing the flow of energy through the meridians, channels of energy which run through the human body.
During that time, I also studied macrobiotics, which applies the same principles of energy balancing to our general lifestyle and the food we eat. I worked for four years as a macrobiotic chef and, for several years my husband and I ran a macrobiotic and vegetarian cafe on Mt. Desert Island in Maine.
I have practiced shiatsu for 34 years and during that time, I also acquired my certification in therapeutic massage and body work and became a Reiki master.
Throughout my career I have placed emphasis on the body, mind, and spirit connection and, for that reason, I’ve studied deeply in the following areas:
The role that core beliefs play in the creation of personal reality
The healing of the emotional body
The body’s energy channels (meridians) and centers (chakras) and how their flow affects one’s physical, mental, and spiritual health
Relationships and how they are affected by energy patterns
Judgmentalism, what it comes from and how to heal it compassionately
Some examples of sources I continue to find relevant in my practice are:
Jane Roberts, The Nature of Personal Reality
Donna Eden, Energy Medicine

I currently live and practice energy work by phone in Bar Harbor, Maine.
